New Patients

We know that when you are struggling with something that’s wrong with you and you don’t know why, going to the doctor can be a little intimidating. We want to provide you with the information on what your first two visits with us will entail.

As usual there is some paperwork that we need for our records. This helps us to learn about you, your health history and anything that may contribute to the current issues at hand.

We want to know prior to treatment any and all information that pertains to your current complaint. We review your intake paperwork and spend some time asking some questions about what led up to the way that you feel today. This allows us to determine what tests we need perform or if imaging may be necessary.

During the exam we are going to perform tests appropriate to your complaint to help us figure out what’s going on and exactly where the pain is coming from. Many of the tests are hands on where you will be asked to either resist in a movement, palpate the affected area, test reflexes, or we may move a joint or muscle group and apply pressure to that area. As mentioned, sometimes imaging is necessary, and we have a digital x-ray system available at our location to save you time and a trip to another facility. This helps us to indicate if this is a condition that we can help you with or if we should refer you out to another provider best suited to what we believe is going on.

Many times after we review all of the information, we are going to treat the area with chiropractic adjustments. There are a very few instances where we want to further evaluate your information before providing treatment. We care about your well being and want to provide the best possible care for you.

At the end of your first visit we are going to schedule a follow up visit for the next office day. To ensure the best outcomes and fastest recovery, we always want to see our patients on the next available day following their first visit.

Here we will discuss with you what we have determined the issue to be and will have developed a treatment plan based on that information to help you get back to normal in the shortest time possible. We are also going to discuss your insurance coverage and the financial obligation that you may have based on that policy coverage, so there are no surprises.

The first two visits will be the longest of any visits that you will have in the clinic. You should expect about 1 hour of time on the first visit and about 30 minutes for the second. All subsequent visits should be approximately 15-20 minutes.

We hope this helps ease your mind and want to let you know that you have made the right choice in choosing chiropractic and Lakeville Spine & Health.

We welcome the chance to serve you.
